TIF Expo 2018, the first furniture trade show in Thailand staged in collaboration with world class furniture makers, achieved its goals and more. Showcasing international standard designs, the event was pitched at domestic and international furniture fans.
More than 100 exhibitors generated over 100 million baht in sales value as manufacturers showed off their latest designs on the pan-ASEAN stage.

Mr. Chaiyong Pongsuthimanus, President of the Thai Furniture Industry Club, said: “Held from 7-11 March 2018, Thailand International Furniture Expo 2018, or TIF Expo 2018, brought together many of the world’s most in-demand furniture makers. Taking ‘The Signature of Living” as its theme there were all the latest modern designs created for different lifestyles. It would not have been possible, however, without the excellent organisation by the Thai Furniture Club which was staging the event for the first time.”
Thailand International Furniture Expo 2018 gained a good response from both Thai and international furniture enthusiasts from Europe, Japan, and CLMV countries who joined the event and negotiated deals. Furniture exports by Thailand amount to 35 billion baht while income during the 5-day event amounted to 100 million baht. Negotiations also began on another US$20 million of deals.

The bestselling categories include wood furniture, leather furniture, metal furniture, rattan furniture and office furniture, along with home decoration. The displays target the new generation that looks for smart design suitable for single homes, condominiums, hotels, resorts and spa.
The beyond-expectation outcome of TIF reflects the prowess of Thai manufacturers of high quality furniture products. Their efforts made "Thailand International Furniture Expo 2018” an international trade fair indicating the rise of Asia and ASEAN as centres of furniture manufacture.

“Thailand has gained worldwide acclaim for its furniture in international markets and its craftsmanship meets global standards while the designs respond to the needs of various people and place. A collaboration of members of the Thai Furniture Industry Club, the expo yielded impressive success. It was able to showcase top brands while the ‘Design Plant’ Thai designer group laid out their new ideas based on their long experience. TIF also supported newcomers and university students with ‘Young Designer Showcase’ which will expand industry growth going forward.”
“Thailand International Furniture Expo 2018 is the first remarkable event reflecting support across the private sector and represents a big leap forward for Thai furniture development as it expands into new markets. TIF 2018 is therefore our major event of the year and as we make it annual, we expect its impact and success to grow year-by-year.”
