'Tierney made the great escape' - Arsenal fans mock Celtic's Champions League exit

Arsenal fans have been on cloud nine after their summer transfer business and optimism has risen following an opening weekend victory over Newcastle United.

After overcoming a hard-fought result, Arsenal fans are looking forward to seeing their new recruits on a more regular basis - with none of their six additions starting on Tyneside.

Among those waiting for their Arsenal debut is Kieran Tierney, a £25m Deadline Day capture from Celtic who is currently recovering from an injury problem.

A boyhood Celtic fan and beloved in Scotland, Tierney's decision to leave the Scottish champions to move to the Premier League upset many - and a regular question was why he left a side who could compete in the Champions League for one in the Europa League.

However, that argument swiftly went out the window as Celtic suffered a premature exit from the competition at the hands of Cluj, losing 4-3 at their home ground and 5-4 on aggregate.

Unsurprisingly, that left Arsenal fans delighted and many took to social media to mock those north of the border.

Tierney is currently undergoing rehabilitation after undergoing surgery for a double hernia, but should be available to make his Arsenal debt within the next couple of months.
