Sky Sports reporter Geoff Shreeves has recalled the amusing tale of when Nottingham Forest legend Brian Clough once 'tickled his testicles' during a TV interview.
In a wide-ranging piece about life behind the microphone, the legendary interview discussed managers past and present and some of the bust-ups he has encountered in a brilliant career.
And he told the tale of how Reds great Clough got up close and personal for a joke during a piece for Sky Sports.
“Of course, interviews go badly occasionally,” Shreeves told the Times' Henry Winter.
“I’ve had Brian Clough tickling my testicles during the interview.
"Out of shot, he’s messing around like this (he shapes a cupping action).
"You just laugh.
"In the older days the managers could be more aggressive.
"Howard Kendall delivered the most magnificent finger pokes to my chest in staccato rhythm when I asked him for interview once after (Manchester) City had just lost.
"He said, ‘absolutely, no f***ing chance, whatsoever’ as he backed me up the corridor.”
