Tickets to UNC vs. Duke are insanely expensive this year

North Carolina’s annual visit to Cameron Indoor Stadium to play the Duke Blue Devils is always one of the toughest tickets to get in college basketball – but ticket prices are skyrocketing ahead of Zion Williamson’s first-ever game against the Tar Heels.

No. 1 Duke will welcome No. 9 North Carolina for Wednesday’s must-watch ACC showdown, and with fewer than 10,000 spots to fill inside of Duke’s historic arena, fans are spending Super Bowl money just to get in the door. According to Vivid Seats, the most expensive ticket to last year’s UNC vs. Duke game sold for $5,400. In 2019, that figure has nearly doubled to $10,652.

A few weeks ago in Atlanta, the get-in price for Super Bowl 53 was $2,900 on the day before the game. As of Tuesday afternoon, the cheapest tickets on Vivid Seats cost $2,989 each for a pair of tickets. A single ticket would cost you $4,000. On SeatGeek, the cheapest seat will run you $3.9k before fees.

The hundreds of Duke students in attendance get in free on a first-come, first-served basis, if you’re wondering, but only after camping outside in Krzyzewskiville for more than a month this year to hold a spot in line.
