Tickets on sale Friday for 'Saved by the Bell'-themed pop-up

April 20--Get ready, preppies. The team behind the upcoming "Saved by the Bell" parody pop-up -- which will transform a Chicago bar into The Max, the iconic diner from the late '80s/early '90s TV show -- has released more details about the project.

Organizers tapped actor Ed Alonzo to reprise his role as Max, the namesake proprietor of The Max, in a video announcing the event's location. The pop-up will run throughout the month of June at SFCO (1941 W. North Ave., formerly Geek Bar) in Wicker Park.

Expect dinner service starting at 5 p.m. daily, weekend brunch (11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays) and a late-night menu. Dishes in development include, right now, the Macaroni Screech, AC Sliders and a Lisa Turtle Milkshake. The Max will also feature a full bar with Bayside-inspired cocktails. A few special events are in the works, though there's no word yet if we'll see Screech, Slater or Mr. Belding walking the halls.

Reservation tickets for dinner go on sale 11 a.m. Friday, April 22, at www.savedbythemax.com. Brunch and late-night service will be walk-in only.

As of this writing, more than 22,000 people have indicated interest in attending on the event's Facebook page. Looks like Chicagoans are "so excited, so excited, so excited" to travel back to Bayside. (Here's hoping organizers can nab Elizabeth Berkley for a guest appearance.)
