The new live action Lion King movie is released in cinemas across the UK today - but early impressions of the film have been mixed.
Since it's release in the States, movie-goers opinions have been split with an early IMDB rating of 6.7/10 neatly summing up the disparate views people have on it thus far.
Directed by Jon Favreau, the film is a remake of the classic Disney cartoon released in 1994.
The original film has already spawned a number of not-so-memorable sequels including Lion King II: Simba's Pride and Lion King 1½ .
One spin-off that has rarely left audiences disappointed, however, is the live action stage production.
It was first performed in 1997 - and still going more than 22 years later, it's safe to say it's stood the test of time.

One of the locations you can catch Disney's Lion King is, of course, London's West End .
It's current run at the Lyceum Theatre until February 16 2020.
