Ticket prices for Nottingham's trams set to increase in January

A number of ticket prices for Nottingham's trams are set to increase at the beginning of January.

The changes to some fares come as part of NET's annual review, and the new ticket prices are set to come into force from January 6, 2020.

The cost of adult tickets purchased on the platforms will increase from £2.30 to £2.40, while a day ticket will get a 20p price-hike to £4.20.

The weekly pass price will also be increased by 50p to £18.50.

NET Marketing Manager, Rebekah Smith, said: "The tram still offers fantastic value and these slight increases bring us into line with other transport operators in the city.

"By switching to paying for travel using our NETGO! mobile app rather than at the tram stop, customers can still enjoy savings on their ticket, while our new short hop zones offer great value for money for anyone who needs a swift and convenient ride between a couple of stops."

However, NET will also be running a number of money-saving offers in January.

Regular customers may purchase an annual pass with a saving of up to £50 if bought in January, where the price will be slashed from £525 to £475.

Between January 1 and 31, a three-month adult pass will also be priced at £145, a saving of £15, and there will be a £5 discount applied to the one-month adult pass which typically costs £55.

The popular £1 'short-hop' tickets will also become available across the entire network when NET introduces an updated zoning system from Monday, January 6.

The new system can be seen on the NET website.

Marketing manager Rebekah added: "For regular customers our season tickets offer the most cost-effective way to travel by tram, and our January deals make them an even more attractive proposition."
