Ticket prices cut for All-Ireland final replay between Dublin and Kerry

The GAA has cut ticket prices for the All-Ireland final replay, which will be refereed by Cork’s Conor Lane.

The move to reduce the cost of admission is in line with recent years, with the September 14 rematch between Dublin and Kerry being the fifth time since 2012 that a hurling or football final has required a replay.

A stand ticket for Saturday week’s game will cost €60, down from €90, while a terrace ticket has also been slashed by 30% from €45 to €30.

Discounted children’s tickets, costing €10, will also be made available to the two counties.

The GAA has come in for some heavy flak this year for increasing ticket prices, with a stand tickets raised by €10 for both senior finals this year.

When the last football final replay occurred in 2016, prices were cut from €80 to €60 (stand) and €40 to €30 (terrace), a less generation reduction than had been the case for the three successive hurling final replays from 2012-14.

Although Derry referee Barry Cassidy was thought to be a contender for his first final, the GAA has opted for experience with Lane handed the whistle for the replay.

He previously took charge of the drawn Dublin-Mayo final in 2016 and last year’s Dublin-Tyrone decider.

Lane has been busy in this year’s Championship having been the man in the middle for the Dublin-Mayo semi-final last month as well as the Meath-Donegal, Donegal-Cavan, Cavan-Monaghan, New York-Mayo and Dublin-Kildare ties.

Maurice Deegan (Laois) will be the linesman and standby referee with David Coldrick (Meath) the other linesman while Niall Cullen (Fermanagh) has been appointed as the sideline official.

Lane’s umpires will be Banteer/Lyre clubmates Kevin Roache and DJ O'Sullivan along with Ray Hegarty (Bride Rovers) and Pat Kelly (Kilshannig).
