The foster brother of murdered schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer has avoided facing court after being accused of breaking into a southeast Queensland camping store.
Trent Thorburn, 24, and two other people allegedly stole equipment from the business in the Brisbane suburb of Parkinson on June 25.
He is charged with one count of entering a premises and committing an indictable offence namely stealing.
Thorburn's appearance was excused when the matter was mentioned briefly for the first time in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
He has been on bail since his arrest earlier this month.
The matter was adjourned for further mention in the same court on August 25.
His father Rick Thorburn was sentenced to 20 years in jail for murdering 12-year-old Tiahleigh Palmer, whose badly decomposed body was found by three fishermen on the banks of the Pimpama River on November 5, 2015.
Rick Thorburn's claim that he accidentally suffocated Tiahleigh was rejected when Deputy State Coroner Jane Bentley handed down findings from an inquest last month.
