Tiago Silva injury update as Sabri Lamouchi addresses Nottingham Forest star's absence

Nottingham Forest have been dealt an injury blow, with the news Tiago Silva will be sidelined “for a few weeks”.

The midfielder required surgery after suffering appendicitis, and though he is now out of hospital, he will be absent for some of the Championship season’s final run-in.

Having scored the winner in his team’s previous outing - against Cardiff City - Silva missed the 2-2 draw at Middlesbrough, on a night when the Reds were well below-par.

“I am upset for him, because he will be out for a few weeks,” Lamouchi said of Silva.

“I spoke with him yesterday night and he feels much better. He is at home now.

“He will have one more week of rest, then after that we will decide what he needs to do.

“Unfortunately it is like that.

“We miss players at the wrong time. But I never talk about the players who are out, so I will not start today.

“I am just upset for him because it is not an injury, it is just a fate.

“He needs to take care of himself and he will be back stronger.”

Samba Sow was also once again not involved at the Riverside Stadium as he continues to suffer with a knee problem.

Forest took the lead against Boro through Ryan Yates, but needed a late equaliser from Lewis Grabban to rescue a point.
