JESUITIQUE is fancied to rack up a hat-trick of wins for Dr Richard Newland by landing the Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle (1.22) at Market Rasen.
The French native is two from two since joining Newland, starting the ball rolling with a three-quarter-length victory at Worcester last month.
Put up 5lb as a result, Jesuitique took another step forward in a conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle 11 days ago, beatin Beauport by a length and a half.
My selection escapes a penalty here and, due to go up another 5lb in the future, the son of Saint Des Saints is expected to cope with slightly quicker terrain to rack up the hat-trick.
The three miles of the preceding Pertemps Network Mares’ Handicap Hurdle (12.52) should suit GO CHICQUE down to the ground.
The Nicky Henderson-trained five-year-old marked her first attempt at three miles with a three-and-three-quarter-length success at Southwell in April.
After a 6lb rise in the weights, Go Chicque made her return over two and a half miles at Ascot last month, finishing sixth, beaten just over 10 lengths, to Lossiemouth.
Go Chicque is 1lb lower in the weights but it’s the step back to three miles that is the clincher and, with Ben Ffrench Davis claiming a useful 7lb allowance, Go Chicque can get back to winning ways.
