Thursday Leeds weather forecast as city expects rain

Temperatures across the UK have broke record-level this week, with parts of the country, including Yorkshire hitting 40C. As we start to approach the end of the week temperatures have dropped hitting the 20s across the region on Thursday.

Yesterday (July 20) the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning across parts of the UK, including South Yorkshire as thunderstorms were predicted to follow the hot weather. Light showers are expected to continue today.

Leeds will see light rain throughout most of the day today, July 21. Temperatures a little above average, maximum temperature 21 °C.

The Met Office has said: "A cloudy start with a little drizzle over the Pennines. Some breaks will develop, allowing sunny spells and perhaps the odd shower in the afternoon. Temperatures a little above average. Maximum temperature 22 °C."

Leeds is forecast to see light rain from 6am on Thursday until the mid afternoon, from 3pm it will remain overcast - it will turn cloudy at 5pm before light rain is expected once more. The evening will turn overcast until sunset at 9.22pm.

Temperatures will hit 21C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Sunny intervals and showers on Friday, showers more isolated on Saturday. Breezy with outbreaks of rain over the hills on Sunday but largely dry in the east. Trending warmer again.
