Thundery rain showers ahead before humid conditions move in this week

The start to the week was fairly miserable with heavy grey clouds and showers on Monday.

So there's both good and bad news ahead with the rest of the week's forecast.

Showers are set to continue throughout Tuesday and there's even a chance of thunder.

However, from Wednesday onwards there is warm, sunny and even humid conditions expected.

Here is what the Met Office told us to expect:

Tuesday

"Rain, often heavy and sometimes thundery, gradually clears away northwards, leaving a legacy of low cloud, hill fog and light rain.

"Most parts becoming dry during the evening. Maximum temperature 16 °C."

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday

"Dry and sunny, once early low cloud, and fog clears inland, whilst often lingering along the coast.

"Generally warm and humid inland, but frequently cooler along the coast."
