Thunderstorms to hit Scotland tomorrow as summer of bad weather continues

The weather isn't set to get any better this week as the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms.

From 12pm tomorrow, Wednesday, until midnight thunderstorms will hit most of the west coast of Scotland.

Scots are being warned to brace for flooding, lightning, hail and strong winds which could lead to possible damage to some buildings and difficult driving conditions.

The miserable weather comes days after the country enjoyed a scorching heat wave, with temperatures reaching the likes of 29C - quite a rarity for Scotland.

The forecast reads: "Scattered thunderstorms developing for the afternoon, with 20 to 30 mm possible within an hour, and perhaps 50 mm in places within a few hours. Hail may occur in some locations."

Here's hoping it passes without too much disruption.
