Thunderstorms to batter the UK as Easter heatwave ends

It was on of the hottest Easter Monday's on record but the glorious heatwave is about to come to a crashing end.

People will need to make the best of today's weather , with rain expected to hit Merseyside tomorrow and it's going to last the rest of the week.

The end of the heatwave will be marked with thunderstorms across the country.

Temperatures will start plummeting mid-week back into the low teens, which will feel brisk after the Bank Holiday heatwave.

Today:

It will be another fine, dry and sunny day for many. It will feel warm in the sunshine, although it will be on the breezy side. Maximum temperature 24 °C.

When the rain will come back to Liverpool after the hottest Bank Holiday weekend on record

Wednesday:

After a dry and bright start, cloud and outbreaks of rain, heavy and possibly thundery, will move north across all parts during the afternoon. Rain will clear north later. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Staying unsettled with further heavy and thundery showers Thursday and Friday.

Possibly a spell of wet and windy weather arriving from the west Saturday, with coastal gales possible. Feeling fresher.
