WARNINGS have been issued as thunderstorms are set to hit parts of Scotland, with some areas at risk of flooding.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for parts of south east Scotland with heavy rain and thunderstorms forecast.
The warning, which also covers much of the north of England, is in place from 5pm on Saturday until 3am on Sunday.
(Image: Met Office) The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa) - the environmental watchdog - has also issued a flood alert for the Scottish Borders, with heavy rainfall and the potential for disruption expected across Roxburghshire and Berwickshire in particular.
It comes after a period of warm and dry weather across Scotland.
Friday marked the hottest day of the year in Scotland so far, with some areas seeing temperatures as high as 28C.
The Met Office said there is a small chance that some communities could become cut off by flooded roads, as well as warning of power cuts, difficult driving conditions and temporary road closures.
