A weather warning for thunderstorms in Greater Manchester next week has been issued by the Met Office.
The yellow weather warning covers the entirety of the UK on Monday and Tuesday.
It is expected to follow a hot weekend, with temperatures set to hit 37C in parts of the country.
There is a 'significant uncertainty in location and timing' of the thunderstorms, the Met Office warns.
According to the weather warning:
- There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes and large hail
- Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to public transport
- Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and increased chance of accidents
- There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost
- There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life
It comes after a warm sunny weekend across the UK, with record breaking temperatures forecast down south.
Public Health England has even issued a warning for those hoping to get out and about in the sun.
They are advising people to check in on the vulnerable during the hot spell.
The north is expected to be cooler than the south, with temperatures in the late 20s all weekend.
In Greater Manchester, highs of around 28C are expected today.
Tomorrow and Sunday will be a similar picture - with highs of 26C and then 24C respectively forecast.
