Adelaide goalkeeper Shamera Sterling-Humphrey has produced a standout display as the Thunderbirds continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 73-46 demolition of the Queensland Firebirds.

The Thunderbirds blitzed the Firebirds 21-9 in the opening quarter of Sunday's match at Nissan Arena in Brisbane, with Sterling-Humphrey the key player during that early onslaught.

The 30-year-old Jamaican tallied five gains and four intercepts for the quarter to completely blanket the Firebirds' shooters.

Queensland goal shooter Mary Cholhok scored only five goals before being benched early in the match, with the home side unable to recover from their poor start.

The Firebirds battled hard to stem the bleeding in the second and third quarters, but were outscored 21-12 in the final term as Adelaide recorded their biggest victory in Super Netball history, eclipsing the 26-goal win they achieved against the Mavericks in 2024.

The result improved the Thunderbirds' record this season to a perfect 3-0, while Queensland are 0-3 and already facing a battle to stay in the hunt for a finals spot.

"It feels good to still be away from home and be able to get over the line, so very proud of that," Sterling-Humphrey told Fox Sports after the match.

Thunderbirds goal shooter Elmere van der Berg finished with 44 goals and four Super Shots, while Lauren Frew was a perfect 12-of-12 from normal range.

Adelaide finished with a stunning 28 gains for the match.

Sterling-Humphrey tallied 13 gains, five intercepts and six rebounds, while goal defender Latanya Wilson was also impressive with seven gains and five intercepts.

Firebirds goal shooter Elsa Sif Sandholt, who was injected into the game after Cholhok was pulled, finished with 18 goals to go with an impressive six Super Shots from seven attempts.
