Thunder will be underdogs Friday on the road vs. the Clippers

As the Thunder return to action Friday night on the road against the Los Angeles Clippers, the club will be 2.5-point underdogs.

Oklahoma City picked up a 129-121 win in overtime against the Portland Trail Blazers Thursday night and will look to keep its momentum going on their four-game road trip.

The Thunder can take the season series against the Clippers with a win after defeating L.A. in two of the three previous meetings this year. After losing the first meeting in October, OKC has taken the past two contests.

The Thunder have won five out of their last six matchups against the Clippers but are just 9-10 at Staples Center so the team may have a difficult time in a place they haven’t had much success.

The Clippers have won six out of their last eight games coming into the matchup as they attempt to improve their playoff positioning. The team is tied for eighth in the Western Conference with the San Antonio Spurs but is just one game back of the Utah Jazz in sixth place.

Russell Westbrook will see a familiar foe on Friday in Patrick Beverley. In the second meeting on Oct. 30, police were needed to keep the two separated after Westbrook took exception at Beverley diving at his knees.

The officials handed out double technical fouls for the aftermath of the play and Beverley was also handed a flagrant 1 foul for diving into Westbrook’s knees.

The game Friday is set to tip off at 9:30 p.m. CT and can be seen on FS OK.
