The Oklahoma City Thunder got the win over the Miami Heat, but they’re hoping they didn’t lose a player.
Guard Lu Dort injured his knee when he collided with Heat wing Jae Crowder, who was setting a pick, in the first half of the Thunder’s 116-115 win.
Dort came out of the game and did not return.
Shortly after the game, head coach Billy Donovan said he did not know the severity of the injury.
“I don’t know the extent of it,” he said. “They’ll probably end up doing some imaging and taking a look, we’ll probably have more of an update either tonight or tomorrow, but I don’t know the full extent other than it was his knee.”
Dort emerged as a strong defender after joining the Thunder from the G League, and found his way in the starting lineup.
He has also had some offensive flashes in the bubble, averaging about 10 points over the first six games back in the NBA return, and he played some lead guard without Dennis Schroder in the rotation.
The Thunder play the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday, their final game before the playoffs start.
“Hopefully it’s not something that’s too serious and he’ll be back hopefully sooner than later,” Donovan said.
