Thunder-produced Paul George short film to debut at OKC film festival

For at least a one night, Paul George has a distraction from the building anticipation surrounding the NBA MVP and Defensive Player of the Year announcements coming up on June 24, both of which he is in contention for, along with Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo.

From Thursday to Sunday, Oklahoma City will host its annual deadCenter Film Festival, which has been a recurring event since its inception in 2001. Well, it turns out the Oklahoma City Thunder submitted a short, five-minute film for the festival, and it’s centered around Paul George.

Specifically, the short film titled “Growing Up George” places its focus on the Thunder superstar and his older sister Teiosha, a former college basketball player for Pepperdine University, as reported by Maddie Lee of the Oklahoman.

The five-minute film focuses on George’s relationship with his older sister Teiosha through basketball and how his mother’s unexpected stroke over two decades ago shaped their family …  the collaboration between the Thunder and Deep Sky Studios brings characters designed by Thunder super fan Nanae Yamano to life to tell the family’s story through a new medium.

The short film will be featured at the festival on Saturday, according to Lee.
