Thunder ‘planning’ to sign guard Scotty Hopson to 10-day contract

The Thunder are reportedly planning to sign Oklahoma City Blue guard Scotty Hopson to a 10-day contract on Thursday, according to Royce Young of ESPN.

Hopson is averaging 17 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 25 games for the Blue this season while the 6-foot-7 guard is shooting 55.1 percent from the field, including 34.1 percent from 3-point range.

The 29-year-old has emerged as one of the best prospects for the Blue after he was named to the Midseason All-NBA G League Team, along with Deonte Burton, the league announced on Monday.

The news of the team bringing in Hopson comes just a day after it was reported by Sham Charania of The Athletic that the Thunder will be signing blue forward Richard Solomon to a 10-day contract.

The Thunder had three roster spots open after the release of Alex Abrines on Saturday and now will have just one slot available, at least for the next 10 days.

The team may have wanted to bring up some additional help before the Thunder play on Thursday since it is possible that Jerami Grant and Dennis Schroder will not play.
