Thunder injuries: Gilgeous-Alexander has quad contusion, Bazley remains out

Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander suffered a quad contusion and has been ruled out of the game against the New York Knicks on Saturday.

Head coach Mark Daigneault said it’s not serious and did not express concern.

In the win on Thursday against the Dallas Mavericks, Gilgeous-Alexander posted 32 points on 11-for-22 shooting and had six assists in 32:37 of play. He finished the game on the court and looked good throughout, scoring eight points in the final two minutes of the 116-108 victory.

The Thunder have been cautious with injured players so far this season, including with Gilgeous-Alexander early in February. He missed six total games due to a knee injury last month.

Gilgeous-Alexander joins Darius Bazley, Hamidou Diallo, George Hill and Josh Hall on the injured list.

Bazley missed the game Thursday due to a left shoulder contusion. It was the first game he has missed this season.

The second-year forward is averaging 11.9 points and 7.5 rebounds in 30.7 minutes per game.

Diallo remains out due to groin soreness. This will be the sixth game he has missed due to the injury, which he suffered on Feb. 24.

Hill is still in a cast following right thumb surgery and Hall is out with left knee soreness.

Oklahoma City (16-21) and New York (19-19) are scheduled to tip off at 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
