Thunder have signed 2019 draft pick Darius Bazley

On Saturday, the Oklahoma City Thunder officially acquired the draft rights to their lone selection from the 2019 NBA Draft, Darius Bazley. But instead of selecting him No. 21 overall with the pick Oklahoma elected to trade with Memphis to acquire the No. 23 pick in the 2019 Draft — which originally belonged to the Utah Jazz — and the Grizzlies’ 2024 second-round pick.

With the Thunder technically acquiring Bazley via trade, Oklahoma City could not acquire his draft rights until the Free Agency Moratorium ended on Saturday at noon. Once the Thunder officially had Bazley’s draft rights, the parties were allowed to discuss his rookie contract, which they were able to settle on Sunday night.

The team made the official announcement on Twitter:

Bazley is now eligible to play alongside Hamidou Diallo, Lu Dort and the rest of Oklahoma City’s Summer League team in Las Vegas. (Bazley is already there.) But, according to Brett Dawson of The Athletic, the Thunder have yet to make a decision on the matter.
