The Oklahoma City Thunder have reportedly claimed two-way contract player Jawun Evans off of waivers, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
As a two-way player, Evans spent most of the season in the G League with the Northern Arizona Suns. He averaged 15.1 points, 5.8 assists and 3.8 rebounds in 32 games with the Suns.
The Phoenix Suns waived Evans on Monday after making just seven appearances with the team. Evans totaled just six points, 10 assists and three steals with Phoenix.
Evans played collegiately out of Oklahoma State and was the No. 39 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft of the Los Angeles Clippers. He averaged 4.8 points in 48 appearances last season with the Clippers.
The Thunder had an open two-way contract slot available after converting the contract of Deonte Burton to a standard deal at the beginning of the month.
With Evans now reportedly on board with the Thunder, he is the second player on the roster signed to a two-way contract, along with Donte Grantham.
Evans will not be eligible to play with the Thunder in the postseason but could give the team some more depth over the remaining nine games of the regular season.
