Thunder have now overcome the most halftime deficits in the NBA

The Oklahoma City Thunder trailed the Detroit Pistons for most of the first half on Friday night and faced a one-point deficit at halftime. They allowed the Pistons to shoot 53.7 percent from the field in the half.

Blake Griffin torched the Thunder for 31 points in the first half as he dropped in six 3-pointers on nine attempts. The six-time All-Star left no doubt that his sore left knee would not prevent him from playing in the contest.

While the Thunder trailed at halftime, the team made adjustments in the intermission and locked in on the defensive end. OKC held Detroit to 44 points in the second half on just 32.5 percent shooting from the field.

As a result of the Thunder overcoming the deficit, the team now has the most halftime deficit comebacks (16) in the NBA this season, according to Thunder PR.

Of course, the Thunder have struggled a bit recently. The win on Friday is the first time the team has won back-to-back games since March 11-13 when they defeated the Utah Jazz and Brooklyn Nets.

While the Thunder have shown an ability to overcome deficits this season, the team would surely like to avoid trailing in the future as they near the postseason.

The Thunder improved to 46-33 on the season with the win.
