Thunder forecast for South West tomorrow

The Bank Holiday sunshine is set to take a turn tomorrow, with thunderstorms forecast for much of the South West. The King's Coronation weekend has seen sunshine and warmer weather for much of the West Country, until Monday when showers began to take hold.

The rest of the week seems to look much cloudier, with patches of rain. However, Tuesday's weather (May 9) will see thunder beginning around lunchtime until early evening.

According to the Met Office's forecast for the South West region, Tuesday is described as having "a cloudy start with outbreaks of light rain and drizzle. The cloud soon breaking up with sunny spells and showers, these locally heavy with a risk of hail and thunder. Maximum temperature 16C."
