Thunder fans greeted the team at the airport early Thursday morning

After defeating the Milwaukee Bucks Wednesday night, the Thunder received a warm welcome in Oklahoma City early Thursday morning by a contingent of fans at the airport.

Prior to the game, some fans organized to meet at Will Rodgers Airport to greet the team returning from Milwaukee to help send them off in great spirits to start the playoffs.

The Thunder finished the regular season with a five-game winning streak after defeating the Bucks, claiming the sixth seed in the Western Conference.

A few hours after finishing off the Bucks, the Thunder learned that they will face the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round of the playoffs after it looked as though they’d be matched up with the Denver Nuggets.

Thunder Nation has earned a reputation for being some of the most loyal fans in the NBA and that was certainly on display early Thursday morning. Last year, the team was greeted by fans after dropping a game to the Jazz in the first round.

The first round series against the Trail Blazers will begin Sunday in Portland at 2:30 p.m. CT. The series will shift to Oklahoma City for Game 3 on April 19.

The Thunder swept the season series versus the Trail Blazers 4-0.
