Thunder complete largest comeback in team history to beat Rockets

Back in December, the Thunder completed the largest comeback in team history by erasing a 23-point lead against the Brooklyn Nets behind 47 points from Paul George.

On Saturday, George helped the Thunder to another huge comeback.

The Thunder trailed the Houston Rockets by as many as 26 points just before halftime but George scored 28 of his 45 points in the second half to lead the Thunder to a 117-112 win, setting the largest comeback in team history.

While George recorded 45 points during the win, Russell Westbrook added 21 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists for his ninth straight triple-double, tying the all-time mark by Wilt Chamberlain.

The Thunder also received a big contribution from Dennis Schroder off of the bench with 17 points as he scored 13 of those points in the third quarter in less than five minutes of action.

Oklahoma City won despite James Harden scoring 42 points for the Rockets as the MVP candidate has now recorded at least 30 points in 29 consecutive games.

The Thunder improved to 2-1 over the Rockets this season and to 36-19 on the season, just one game back of the Denver Nuggets in second place in the Western Conference playoff race.

While the Thunder certainly looked out of the game in the first half, the players regrouped at halftime and dug deep to come together and pull out a big win in front of the country as the primetime matchup of the week.

Oklahoma City returns to action Monday at home versus the Portland Trail Blazers.
