Thunder check in at No. 5 in the latest power rankings by ESPN

After playing in a pair of games since returning from the All-Star break, the Thunder are fifth in the latest power rankings released on Monday morning by ESPN.

Paul George led the Thunder to a double-overtime win against the Utah Jazz on Friday night after scoring the go-ahead shot with just 1.6 seconds left in the game.

Oklahoma City then returned Saturday night in a losing effort against the Sacramento Kings after a potential game-tying layup was wiped away after Russell Westbrook was whistled for a charge call with 11.5 seconds left.

The Thunder project to have a tough slate of upcoming games this week.

The team returns to action Tuesday night on the road against the Denver Nuggets while the Philadelphia 76ers hit Chesapeake Energy Arena Thursday night before the Thunder hit the road again Saturday versus the San Antonio Spurs.

Oklahoma City has lost both meetings thus far this season against the Nuggets and has posted just a 7-12 all-time in the Mile High City so the team figures to have a tough matchup on Tuesday.

The games against the Nuggets and Sixers will each be on TNT.
