Thunder begin 4-game road trip Tuesday as underdogs vs. Timberwolves

The Thunder will begin a critical four-game road trip Tuesday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves as two-point underdogs.

The meeting between the two teams will be the third of the season, with the Timberwolves defeating the Thunder in the two previous matchups — Minnesota won both games by a combined four points.

Oklahoma City enters the game after recently snapping a four-game losing streak Sunday night against the Memphis Grizzlies. Russell Westbrook scored 12 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Thunder to victory.

The status of Paul George is uncertain. George has missed the past three games due to right shoulder soreness and has been listed as “out” on the initial injury report. However, his status will likely be determined closer to game time.

Meanwhile, the Timberwolves have lost three consecutive games and are 11th in the Western Conference (29-34). Minnesota is coming off a 135-121 loss to the Washington Wizards on Sunday.

While the Thunder have lost both meetings to the Timberwolves, OKC is 29-12 all-time against Minnesota and has a 13-7 record in Minneapolis.

In the previous meeting against the Timberwolves, Thunder center Nerlens Noel was taken off of the court on a stretcher after being elbowed in the head by Andrew Wiggins. Noel was placed into the NBA’s concussion protocol and ultimately missed three games.

After Tuesday’s game, the Thunder will continue its road trip on Thursday against the Portland Trail Blazers. OKC will also play the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday and the Utah Jazz on Monday.

The game is set to tip off at 7 p.m. CT and can be seen on FS OK.
