The Sydney Thunder will bat first against the Adelaide Strikers at Sydney Showground Stadium as they try to beat the visitors for the second time in three days.
The COVID-riddled Thunder, missing four players due to positive tests, won the bat flip and chose to bat, just as they did in a 22-run win on New Year's Eve in Adelaide.
Pakistan international quick Mohammad Hasnain has been named for the Thunder for his BBL debut, while Gurinder Sandhu is another inclusion.
But Sydney remains without Alex Hales, Alex Ross, Tanveer Sangha and Sam Whiteman, who have tested positive for COVID.
They sit fourth on the ladder with a 4-3 record, while the Strikers desperately need a victory, languishing at seventh on the table with a 1-6 return
