Thunder assign Justin Patton to OKC Blue

Justin Patton has been assigned to the Oklahoma City Blue of the NBA G League.

The team announced the decision on Wednesday afternoon.

Patton played sparingly for the Thunder during the preseason, averaging 3.0 points per game, shooting 37.5% from the field, hitting on 6-of-16 attempts.

Prior to landing in OKC, Patton played three games in the NBA, three of those coming with Philadelphia during the 2018-19 season. He averaged 1.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 7.0 minutes per game.

Selected by the Chicago Bulls with the No. 16 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, Patton has spent the majority of his three seasons in the G League.

Per a Thunder press release, Patton “appeared in 49 G League games (30 starts) in two seasons and averaged 11.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.49 blocks and 1.00 steal in 22.1 minutes per game.”

Oklahoma City signed Patton in August of 2019.

The center has played in one game during the regular season, logging six minutes in the Thunder’s 120-92 route of Golden State.
