Thunder are the only lower seed favored to win in the first round

The sixth-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder are favorites to beat the third-seeded Portland Trail Blazers in the first round of the playoffs, according to Caesars Palace.

As a result of being favored, the Thunder are the only lower seed in the playoffs projected to win their first-round matchup as all of the other teams with homecourt advantage are favored to win.

The Thunder have likely been pegged as the favorites to win since the Trail Blazers are down a starter in Jusuf Nurkic and they swept the season series against Portland 4-0.

Although the regular season results are often thrown out the window come playoff time, the Thunder have matched up well with the Trail Blazers and that figures to carry into the postseason.

Games 1 and 2 will be in Portland while the series will shift to Oklahoma City for Games 3 and 4. The rest of the games will alternate between cities, if necessary.

The Thunder broke an eight-game losing streak against the Trail Blazers in Portland earlier this season on Jan. 4 so they have shown they can win at Moda Center.

Game 1 is Sunday at 2:30 p.m. CT.
