Thunder appear to work out Creighton’s Martin Krampelj ahead of draft

The Oklahoma City Thunder have the No. 21 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and they have brought in different prospects for workouts. The Thunder recently invited prep school star Jalen Lecque for a workout, as well as LSU junior Skylar Mays.

It also appears the Thunder had Creighton forward Martin Krampelj in for a workout Saturday.

Krampelj is coming off his redshirt junior season, and he declared for the draft in April. Krampelj, 24, announced Wednesday on his Twitter that he would keep his name in the NBA Draft.

Krampelj, who played at Creighton for three seasons (2011-2014), took a picture with Grant Gibbs while at what appeared to be a workout. Gibbs is an assistant coach for the Oklahoma City Blue, the Thunder’s G League affiliate.

While at Creighton, Krampelj showed great perseverance. He suffered three ACL injuries, and he had his best season with the team this past season. He was awarded Big East honorable mention, and he averaged a career-high 13.5 points per game on 59.2 percent shooting, along with 6.9 rebounds per game.

The draft will be held in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center on June 20 at 7 p.m.
