Machete-wielding thugs are being hunted by police following an armed raid at a shop in Trafford .
Two men wearing balaclavas stormed McColls on Shaftesbury Avenue in Timperley at around 9.45pm on Sunday.
One was armed with a machete, the other with a hammer.
The men threatened staff and demanded cash before escaping from the convenience store with a 'large amount of cigarettes'.
According to GMP , the thieves were wearing dark clothing. Both had their hoods up as well as faces covered.

No arrests have yet been made, and an investigation is underway.

GMP said: "Police called at 9.45pm on March 31 to reports of an armed robbery on McColls on Shaftesbury Avenue.
"Two men armed with a machete and a hammer entered the premises and demanded cash.
"They were wearing balaclavas and dark clothing.
"A large amount of cigarettes were taken and enquiries to trace the offenders are ongoing."
No one was injured during the robbery.
