Thugs wearing 'medical' masks rob terrified woman at knifepoint in Glasgow flat

Thugs wearing 'medical' masks robbed a terrified woman at knifepoint in a Glasgow flat.

Three men forced their way into a woman's property before threatening her with a blade and demanding cash.

Police raised the alarm at around 5.25pm yesterday on Dumbarton Road.

The lady was uninjured but left her 'very distressed' by the horror ordeal.

The men made off with a five-figure sum of money.

They ran behind the house and onto a local cycle path.

The first suspect is white, around 6 ft. tall with a muscular build.

He was wearing a black hooded top with green and blue stripes around the neck and chest area and black trousers.

He was wearing a white coloured ‘medical type’ mask.

The second suspect is white around 5 ft. tall, with a slim build.

He was wearing a black hooded top and black trousers.

He too was wearing a black coloured ‘medical type’ mask over his face.

The third suspect is white around 5 ft. tall and wearing dark coloured clothing.

Officers have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries and will be checking any available CCTV footage.

Detective Constable Ross Thomson is appealing for anyone with any information to get in touch.

He said: “The men who carried out this crime are cowards, targeting a 48-year-old woman within her home in this way is despicable and it’s imperative we trace these men.

"I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and who was on the cycle path around the time of the incident for any information they may have.

"Perhaps you saw the men running up the cycle path?

"Any small piece of information could prove important as we continue our investigation into this crime.”

Anyone with any information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 2942 of 3 May, 2020. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be provided anonymously.
