Thugs wave knife at homeowner after breaking into house while baby slept

A burglar waved a knife at the occupant of a house after they broke into the home while a baby slept upstairs.

The terrifying incident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning in Sundale Park, Tallaght.

The thugs made off with a number of items including a games console and a mobile phone.

The callous thieves then stood in the front garden and waved a knife when the occupant looked out the window after hearing noises downstairs.

The homeowner shared details of the shocking ordeal on a local Neighbourhood Watch Facebook page.

They said: "Looked out the front window and they stood at the end of our garden waving a huge chefs knife to let us know not to follow."

The stunned resident added that their baby boy was sleeping upstairs while the burglars broke in.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live they are investigating the incident.
