Thugs seriously assault man after attacking him in garden of his Scots home

A man was rushed to hospital after being seriously assaulted in his own back garden.

Police have launched a probe after the attack, which happened on Glencairn Street in Stevenston at around 10.30pm on Friday, December 17.

The 46-year-old man was assaulted by two men in his back garden.

Emergency services raced to the scene and the victim was taken to Crosshouse Hopsital in Kilmarnock for treatment to facial injuries.

Officers have launched an appeal for information following the terrifying attack.

Both suspects are men and one is described as around 5ft 4in tall and of slim build.

Detective Constable Kevin Simpson, of Saltcoats CID, said: "We are appealing to anyone who may have seen two males acting suspiciously in the Glencairn Street area either before or after the incident.

"If you believe you can assist our investigation, please call 101, quoting incident 3736.

"Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous."
