Thugs out of tune with commuters as Pearse Station piano extensively damaged

Musical commuters are fuming after a beloved piano was vandalised at a Dublin train station.

A technician is frantically working to repair the Pearse Station piano which has become a popular fixture to the busy spot over the past months.

The pianos around the capital's stations have been a huge hit and many viral moments have sparked from people taking time out of their commute to play a few tunes.

Sadly for Pearse Station someone wasn't in tune with the craic, and the piano suffered "extensive mindless vandalism".

Irish Rail said: "Our #Pearsepiano will be out of action for some time due to extensive mindless vandalism.

"@irishpianotuner is currently working to get it back to its former glory."

People reacted with anger and asked what was possibly going through the head of the person/people responsible.

One wrote: "Thanks for bringing it back to life! Angry that, because of a few idiots, we can't have nice things for long...

"What on Earth makes them do that? What goes through their thick 'minds'?"

Another wrote: "That's very sad. We change at Pearse and enjoy listening to people playing the #Pearsepiano. Hope it can be restored soon."

Luckily Murphy Piano Tuning are on the case and the piano will hopefully be back in business soon.
