Thugs leave man with scarred face after brutal attack in Paisley

Police are hunting a pair of thugs who launched a brutal attack in Paisley which left a man with a scarred face.

Cops raced to a house on Grampian Avenue around 12.20am on Sunday February 14 after reports of two men seriously assaulting a man.

A 21-year-old was rushed to Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley and is being treated for a facial laceration.

Hospital staff describe his condition as stable.

Police have launched a probe into the incident and are appealing for anyone with CCTV footage or information to get in touch.

Detective Constable Karen Smith of Paisley Police Station said: “We have been carrying out enquiries in the area of Grampian Avenue and we are gathering local CCTV footage to help us with our investigation and identify the two men responsible.

“After the attack, the two men may have left in a dark coloured car, and at this time we are working to establish if this is the case and trace any vehicle.

"I would ask anyone in the area, or anyone driving nearby with dash-cam footage who saw a dark-coloured car to contact us.”

Anyone with information is being urged to contact Paisley Police Station through 101, quoting reference number 0078 of February 14.

Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
