Cops are hunting two men who forced their way into a Blantyre home in an early morning attack.
A 36-year-old man and 55-year-old woman were inside the house in Springwell Crescent when the terrifying ordeal took place last Monday at around 8.30am.
The thugs assaulted the man, who was taken to Hairmyres Hospital with a head injury, and pushed the woman, who was uninjured but has been left badly shaken by the experience.
The first suspect is around 6 ft. tall with a heavy build.
He was wearing a black woolly tammy hat and a yellow hi-vis vest, orange gloves and a black scarf across his face to conceal his identify.
The second suspect is around 6ft. tall with a heavy build.
He was wearing dark coloured clothing and bright blue trainers and covered his face with a scarf.
Enquiries carried out so far have revealed that a blue coloured SUV vehicle with a black roof was used by the suspects.
Detective Constable Andrew Fearnside said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have seen the suspects or saw a blue coloured SUV type vehicle in the area to contact us. Any small piece of information could help us piece together the circumstances of what has happened. In particular, I would ask motorists with dash cams to check their footage as it could contain images which could assist our enquiries.”
