Thugs batter boy and steal his trainers near Scots primary school

A 14-year-old boy has been battered and had his trainers stolen as he walked near a Scots primary school.

The teenager was on the footpath behind Onthank Primary School in Kilmarnock at around 3.30pm yesterday when he was set upon by two males.

They assaulted him and stole his black Adidas trainers before fleeing the area, known locally as the foxes.

The suspects are described as mid-late teens, and were wearing dark clothing.

One has a distinctive burn or birthmark on his left cheek.

Detective Constable Robert Graham, Ayrshire CID, said: "Thankfully there has been no serious injuries as a result of this robbery, but the teenage victim has been left badly shaken.

"I would ask anyone who has any information surrounding this incident to please in touch with local officers.

"We can be contacted by calling 101 and quoting reference 1953 of Friday, 29th January, 2021."
