Thug with Everton tattoo and scars on his face on the run from prison

A thug with an Everton tattoo and scars on his face is being hunted after going on the run from prison.

Sean Buckney was jailed for life in 2006 after biting off part of a man's ear during a street fight in Birkenhead.

The 33-year-old was then recalled to prison again in November 2018 for affray, assault and possession of an offensive weapon.

Now, Buckney is wanted by police again after absconding from HMP Kirkham and members of the public are being warned not to approach him.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police issued an appeal alongside a description of Buckney who is white, 5"10 and of medium build.

Buckney, whose last known address was Cecil Road in New Ferry, was described by police as having a scar to the back of his head and right eye and an Everton Football Club tattoo on his left arm.

He has a number of other tattoos on his arms and body.

In a statement, the force said: "Buckney, 33, is wanted after absconding from HMP Kirkham earlier today (Thursday, August 6)

"Buckney was sentenced to life at Liverpool Crown Court in 2006 for an offence of wounding with intent. He was recalled to prison for affray, assault and possession of an offensive weapon in November 2018.

"Anyone who sees him should not approach him but should contact police."

Back in 2006, Buckney admitted he gets pleasure from violence and was described as an "extremely dangerous man".

While on bail for the Birkenhead assault, Buckney gatecrashed a party, smashed up a car and a window, and hit a guest with an iron bar.

When he was arrested, he threatened police officers.
