A thug who spat in a policewoman’s face and shouted “I’ve got HIV and now you have too” has been jailed.
Darren Wallace was being arrested when he threatened to rape the female cop before telling her male counterpart, “You’re dead mate. I’m dangerous” and claimed he would knife him.
The 34-year-old was arrested at the homeless hostel he was staying in on March 26 when he became violent as cops handcuffed him.
Workers in the supported accommodation dialled 999 when they could hear continuous loud bangs coming from Wallace’s room.
In the hallway of the hostel landing staff members discovered Wallace had slammed the doors so hard he had shattered the glass in them.

When police turned up to the scene Wallace was found to be topless and intoxicated, screaming, “I’ll fight you all, I don’t care”.
Wallace, from Stockton started to bang his head on the cage door once he was put inside a police van, according to Teesside Live.
Darren Wallace, of Norton Road, said he had no recollection of the incident but pleaded guilty to three charges of criminal damage, using threatening language and assaulting an emergency worker at Middlehaven police station.
His defending barrister, Nikki Horton told Teesside Crown Court that she had significant concerns about her client’s mental health and that he had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and ADHD.
Nikki Horton said Wallace’s behaviour had stabilised while in custody, after his medication was altered.
Handing Wallace an eight month prison sentence, Judge Christopher Smith told him: “The assault of the police officer is the most serious offence - representing the peak of your disgraceful behaviour that day.
“You have longstanding psychiatric issues. Your life was in a degree of chaos at the time and I’m satisfied your psychiatric issues caused your loss of control.”
