A thug who punched and headbutted his ex-partner and then hid in her kitchen cupboard is wanted on recall to prison.

Ben Hoofe, 34, was jailed in April last year after attacking his former girlfriend Claire Martin.

He was found by police on March 15, 2020, cowering in her kitchen cupboard and was arrested for breaching a restraining order and attacking his ex-partner.

During the attack, which took place in November 2019, Liverpool Crown Court heard Hoofe had grabbed her hair and repeatedly punched his victim.

He is then said to have followed up his punches with a headbutt to the bridge of her nose, causing it to bleed.

Following his arrest on March 15, he was sentenced to 16 months in prison.

Now police are appealing for the public's help to trace Hoofe, following his release from prison in January this year.

Cheshire Police said he is wanted on recall to prison after breaching the conditions of his license.
