Thug threw bring at cop before pushing officer down flight of stairs

An aggressive Coatbridge thug threw a brick at a cop and struck another officer with a pole, before pushing male constables down a flight of stairs.

Crazed Patrick Molloy’s violent rampage took place at a property on his home town’s Bothwell Place on November 8 last year.

He threw a brick that hit a male constable on the body and targeted another cop with the plastic pole, striking him on the head with it.

Molloy, 53, then pushed two male officers down a flight of stairs at the house before throwing “liquid waste material” at five constables, which hit them on their bodies.

The police eventually managed to take Molloy into custody and he admitted his shameful roll call of reprehensible conduct at Airdrie Sheriff Court.

Sentencing on Molloy was due to take place last Wednesday, but defence lawyer Paul Nicolson informed the court that background reports on his client were “not yet available”.

Proceedings were then further adjourned until May 1 by Sheriff Derek O’Carroll for “criminal justice social work reports and a restriction of liberty assessment”.
