A thug threatened to murder his ex partner and her family after throwing a bottle of vodka through her window and repeatedly punching her in the head.
Andrew Wilton, 39, breached a restraining order made just a week before, preventing him from contacting his ex but on September 2 he turned up at her Cardiff home and barged his way inside.
When she ran out of the house while holding her child to seek the assistance of a neighbour, her tormentor threatened to kill her and threw the glass bottle through a window, causing it to smash into smithereens.
He then assaulted her as she cowered in fear and laughed when she attempted to defend herself.

A sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court on Monday heard Wilton was given a suspended prison sentence of 12 weeks on August 25 for harassing the woman but after turning up at her home just days later, he accused her of "taking the p***" out of him.
Prosecutor Nik Stobl said the defendant appeared "angry" and squared up to victim by puffing his chest out. He said the woman's three children were also in the property while this happened.
Once she left her home, Wilton stood in the street and could be heard saying "I am going to kill you for making a p**** out of me, I have got someone coming here to kill you and I am going to burn your house down".
He later lunged at the victim and punched her to the back and front of her head until he was pulled off by a neighbour.
The police were called and Wilton was arrested at the scene. When he was taken to the police station he told officers "This is her fault, I am going to f****** kill her, she's ruined my life. I am going to do six months and then I am going to murder her and all her family, just watch.
He also claimed he had a double barreled shotgun but when police searched his address they could not find such a weapon.

Wilton, of Craigmuir Road, Splott, later pleaded guilty to harassment, assualt by beating, criminal damage and breaching a restraining order. The court heard he had 25 previous previous convictions, mainly for thefts.
In a victim personal statement, the woman said she had been suffering with anxiety since the attack and is fearful of Wilton turning up and carrying out the threats he made against her, despite him being behind bars.
She added: "He said he was going to kill me and going to burn my house down, I genuinely believe he's capable of this... I know he is in prison but I feel really paranoid he's around. I worry when he's released he will hang around my house and that makes me feel uncomfortable."
The woman said she was looking to move house as she did not want the defendant to know where she lived.
Defending, James Evans said Wilton was "bitterly ashamed" of his behaviour and was "disappointed" at the way he acted. He added the defendant was suffering with depression, was drinking alcohol and taking cocaine but was now free of these substances.
Sentencing, Judge Timothy Petts said: "In a matter of days (since the restraining order) you pushed yourself into her address, acted aggressively, shouted threats at her, smashed her window and eventually punched her repeatedly leaving bruises. She's understandably concerned about you and your behaviour and the chilling threats you made."
Wilton was sentenced to two years and one month imprisonment and was made subject to a restraining order for 10 years.
