Thug tells magistrates to 'f*** off' as he pleads guilty to dangerous dog attack

Thug Mark Henderson told magistrates to "f*** off" when he found out he could face prison time for failing to keep his rottweiler under control.

The 31-year-old's vicious dog attacked a shih tzu and a good samaritan who tried to help calm the animal.

Victim Lorraine Kelly had her arm "ragged around" by the vicious dog which had previously been involved in another incident.

When Henderson, of Brookside Avenue, Blyth, found out he could receive a custodial sentence after his guilty plea, he flounced out of court shouting obscenities at magistrates.

Setting out the prosecution's case at Bedlington Magistrates' Court on August 1, James Long said: "The victim was driving down Brierley Road when she saw a woman holding a shih tzu dog in her arms and looked distressed.

"She noticed that the dog had been attacked in some way.

"The rottweiler was being held by its collar by Henderson, which is not a particularly safe way of restraining it.

"Lorraine Kelly got a lead from her car and checked the dogs collar for a tag and asked about its welfare.

"The owner said it was fine but it lunged at her and bit into her left arm, locking its jaw and ragging her arm around."

She was left with five deep puncture wounds but avoided serious injury despite the dog clamping its powerful jaws for 10 seconds.

When police arrive, they discovered the dog was already subject to an order that it must wear a muzzle and be tethered in the garden after an incident which occured while Henderson was in custody and the dog was being cared for by his ex-partner.

At the time, he was serving a 12-month sentence for smashing his car into a fish and chip shop and attempting to run away.

Defending, Graham Crowth said the dog had only escaped because someone else had left the Henderson's gate open.

He pointed out his client had taken the dog to the vets to be put down "off his own back" before he had been ordered to by the courts.

But Henderson flew off the handle when he found out he was being sent to Newcastle Crown Court for sentencing.

As magistrates explained he could receive a 12-month custodial sentence, Henderson stormed out of the courtroom, telling the bench to "f*** off".

He will be sentenced on August 29.
