A man who spat on his mum and wished coronavirus on her hours after being released from jail has been sentenced to 15 months today.
Liam Dallimore, 28, assaulted Janette Jackson, 57, at her home in Glasgow’s Govan area in April this year.
Dallimore also grabbed two kitchen knives from the property and went out in public.
He pled guilty today at Glasgow Sheriff Court to the assault and the unlawful possession of the knives.
The court heard Dallimore was released on April 15 and turned up at his Miss Jackson’s house drunk in the early hours of the morning.
He was initially denied entry to the property in Elphinstone Place by Miss Jackson.
Prosecutor Graham MacDonald said: “Dallimore spat at his mother’s face.
“He said ‘I hope you get Covid’.”
Dallmore went into the kitchen and took two blades before fleeing the property with them.
A 999 call was made and Dallimore was later traced and arrested but the knives were never recovered.
Callum Weir, defending, called the incident “disgusting” and that Dallimore has no recollection of what happened.
Sheriff Johanna Johnston QC said: “You have a record for committing these types of offences and you are going to jail.
“I take a serious view of the assault on your mother.”
Sheriff Johnston ordered that Dallmore will serve 80 days of his previous sentence before his latest period starts.
